Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be strong or flexible to start?
No. Strength and flexibility are built through practice — they’re not requirements. Our beginner classes are designed to help you build both safely and progressively.
Am I too old to start pole?
Absolutely not. There is no age limit on strength, confidence, or curiosity. Many students start in their 30s, 40s, and beyond. Bodies respond to care, consistency, and practice — at any stage.
Is pole dancing sexual?
Pole can be sensual, but it’s never forced. At Pole Culture, sensuality is about embodiment — how you feel in your body — not about performing for anyone else. You are always in control of how you move and express yourself.
What if I’m nervous or feel awkward?
That’s completely normal. Trying something new can feel vulnerable. Our studio is a supportive, judgment-free space where nervousness is welcome and progress happens at your own pace.
Do I need any experience before my first class?
No experience is needed. Beginner classes are created specifically for first-timers and those returning to movement.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely. Shorts are helpful for grip, but there is no dress code. Wear what feels safe and right for your body.
Avoid greasy lotions and oils to prevent slipping on the pole
No jewellery to prevent damage to the pole

Will I be judged or compared to others?
No. Pole Culture is a comparison-free space. Everyone’s journey looks different, and that is respected here. Progress is personal.
What if I can’t do everything in class?
You’re not expected to. Options and modifications are always offered, rest is respected, and listening to your body is encouraged.
How do I know which class to book?
If you’re new, start with a beginner class. If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to contact us — we’re happy to guide you.
Can I try just one class?
Yes. You’re welcome to book a single class before committing to a package. Trying is enough.
Is Pole Culture inclusive?
Yes. We welcome all bodies, backgrounds, and identities. Our space is built on respect, consent, and community.
How do Vitality points work at Pole Culture?
If you’re a Vitality member, you earn 100 Vitality points for every class you attend at Pole Culture.
Do I need to be on a specific Vitality level?
If you’re a Vitality member and you bank with Discovery, you may qualify for up to 8 free classes, depending on your Vitality status.
How do I book using my Vitality benefit?
You can book classes using your Vitality Active Rewards. If you’re unsure how to do this, feel free to contact us or speak to us in studio — we’re happy to guide you.
Can I still attend if I’m not a Vitality member?
Absolutely. Vitality is just one of the ways to access classes. We offer drop-ins, class packs, and memberships for everyone.
